I am a fashion design graduate from the University for the Creative Arts. I graduated in 2023 with a first class degree, through which I was taught how to pattern cut and sew garments, among many other invaluable skills.
Although I was taught about sewing at university, I am completely self-taught in crochet, knitting and machine knitting.
At school I studied fine art and particularly focused on realism portraiture and figure drawing, which you can find on my portfolio pages. I still have a love for drawing and painting, specifically in oil. I also enjoy using other mediums like coloured pencils, alcohol based markers and digital art on Procreate.
After leaving school I taught myself to crochet before completing my Foundation diploma in art and design, which was not long before the first lockdown. Over the next year or so I developed my online presence on Instagram in the crochet community and taught myself as many new skills as I could.
During my time at university, I found a love for hand knitting and also dabbled in punch needle rugs. When the time came to do my final collection, I knew that I could not hand-knit the more complex and time-consuming pieces I wanted to make, which spurred me on to learn how to machine knit.
Now, I work as a seamstress while developing my own crochet and knit patterns. I am also currently developing my own range of physical items to sell with other crafters as my target audience.
